Scoring Examples
Let's walk through how scoring works with real examples.
Scoring Formula
- Add up letter values (applying blue tile multipliers)
- Get base multiplier from ending slot position
- Add green tile bonuses to multiplier (+2 light, +3 dark)
- Multiply: Letter Total × Final Multiplier = Score
Example 1: "CLASS" = 63 points
Letters: 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 7
Ends at slot 5: base multiplier = ×2
1 Dark Green: +3 → multiplier now ×5
2 Light Greens: +2 +2 → multiplier now ×9
Final: 7 × 9 = 63 points
Example 2: "CLASSICIST" = 336 points

Letters: 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 9 (dark blue C×3) + 1 + 1 + 2 (light blue T×2) = 21
Ends at slot 10: base multiplier = ×6
2 Dark Greens: +3 +3 → multiplier now ×12
2 Light Greens: +2 +2 → multiplier now ×16
Final: 21 × 16 = 336 points
Key Insight: Green tiles don't change letter values — they boost the multiplier applied to the entire word. That's why they're so powerful!
