Frequently Asked Questions

What dictionary does LexiLayers use?

LexiLayers uses a curated English word list of about 125,000 words, three to ten letters long, based on the same public tournament-style word lists that most serious word games start from. Proper nouns and abbreviations are not included, and we also remove slurs and other hateful vocabulary so the game stays welcoming for everyone. See the Our Word List page for the full story of how the dictionary is built.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes! LexiLayers is fully responsive and works great on phones and tablets. Just visit the website in your mobile browser.

Is LexiLayers free to play?

Yes, LexiLayers is completely free to play. Lexi Coins are earned through gameplay and used for cosmetic items only. If you'd like, you can also purchase Coin Packs via PayPal to get coins faster — but this is entirely optional and doesn't give any gameplay advantage.

Why was my word rejected?

Words must be in our dictionary to be accepted. Proper nouns, abbreviations, and very obscure words may not be included. If you believe a word should be valid, please report it through the feedback form.

How do I report a bug?

Use the "Report a Bug" option in the main menu. Include as much detail as possible about what happened and steps to reproduce the issue.

Can I change my username?

Yes! You can change your username once every 6 months. Go to Settings → Profile to update it.

What happens if I disconnect during a game?

In multiplayer modes, disconnecting may result in a rating penalty. Try to have a stable internet connection before starting competitive matches.

Are there power-ups or extra flips I can buy?

No. Every player has access to the exact same options — same number of flips, same board, same time limits. LexiLayers will never offer purchases that give you an advantage over another player. This is a skill-based game, and it always will be. The only purchasable items are cosmetic (avatars, tile themes) and have no effect on gameplay.
