About LexiLayers

What is LexiLayers?

LexiLayers is a free online word puzzle game where you build words by selecting letter tiles on a layered board. Play solo, compete in daily challenges, or battle friends in real-time multiplayer matches.

Game Modes

  • Single Player — Practice at your own pace with casual or ranked play.
  • Daily Challenge — A new seeded board every day. Compete for the top spot on the daily leaderboard.
  • Party Mode — Real-time multiplayer for 2-10 players.
  • Versus — Turn-based 1v1 matches on shared boards.
  • Elimination — Last player standing format.
  • Face-Off — Async competitive play with public or private lobbies.
  • Time Attack — Race against the clock.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LexiLayers ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

LexiLayers is a free online word puzzle game available via web browser. The Service includes single-player modes, multiplayer modes, leaderboards, user accounts, and related features.

3. User Accounts

You may use certain features of the Service as a guest without creating an account. To access multiplayer modes, leaderboards, and other features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may also sign in using third-party authentication providers (Google, Microsoft).

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
  • Attempt to cheat, exploit bugs, or manipulate game mechanics for unfair advantage.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, game mechanics, graphics, and code associated with LexiLayers are the property of LexiLayers and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission.

6. User-Generated Content

By submitting content (such as chat messages, usernames, or profile information) to the Service, you grant LexiLayers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store that content as necessary to operate the Service.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LexiLayers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your username and email address. If you sign in via Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier from those providers.

Game Data

We collect game scores, statistics, match history, and gameplay data to provide leaderboards, rankings, and game functionality.

Technical Data

We automatically collect your IP address, browser type, and connection data for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to store your authentication token and game preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Service.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Provide game features including leaderboards, rankings, and multiplayer matching.
  • Prevent cheating, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Send account-related emails (verification, password reset) when requested.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following cases:

  • Public game data: Your username, avatar, scores, and rankings are visible to other players on leaderboards and in multiplayer games.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LexiLayers or its users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Authentication tokens are signed using industry-standard JWT. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Authentication

If you sign in using Google or Microsoft, those providers may collect data according to their own privacy policies. We only receive the information necessary to create and link your account (name, email, provider ID).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your account Settings.
  • Update your profile information, username, and avatar at any time.
  • Delete your account and associated data through the Settings page.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
